Kakapetra & Parikia: your peaceful base for exploring Paros

Why we love staying just outside Parikia — three minutes from the harbour town, yet far enough away to hear nothing but the breeze.

Kakapetra is a quiet, residential hillside just outside Parikia, the island’s capital and main port. It is the kind of place locals choose to live: peaceful, private and spared from the busy summer crowds — yet only about three minutes by car from Parikia’s waterfront, cafés and shops.

For guests, that means the best of both worlds. Mornings begin slowly on your terrace, and within minutes you can be ordering a freddo espresso in town, collecting a ferry or setting off to explore the rest of the island.

Getting around

From Kakapetra it is roughly 7–8 minutes to Paros Port and about 12 minutes to Paros Airport. Parikia is the hub of the island’s bus network, so every corner of Paros is easy to reach. A rental car or scooter gives you the most freedom — ask us and we will arrange one.

  • Parikia port: approx. 7–8 min drive
  • Paros Airport: approx. 12 min drive
  • Parikia town centre: approx. 3 min drive

Parikia in a day

Wander the marble-paved lanes of the old town, step inside the Panagia Ekatontapyliani — the “Church of a Hundred Doors”, one of the oldest churches in Greece — and climb to the Frankish Kastro, whose walls were built from fragments of ancient temples.

As evening comes, find a seat along the seafront west of the harbour. Parikia faces west across the bay, and its sunsets are some of the best in the Cyclades.

Everyday essentials nearby

Supermarkets, bakeries, pharmacies, a health centre, banks and car-hire offices are all a few minutes away in Parikia — or let us pre-stock your fridge before you arrive.

Stay three minutes from Parikia, in peaceful Kakapetra.
